Simon is currently Palace's longest serving player, though we nearly lost him during the close season due to a contract wrangle. That he finally stayed probably shows his committment to the side, though those that are unfair may state that he couldn't find another Club due to his long term injury late last season. Whatever reason, Simon has returned to the side, and the captain's armband, stronger and better than ever. His performances so far this term reflect a much better player, and there is still a lot that can be expected over the next few years.
