Dean came to Palace as a very much out of favour defender from Tottenham Hotspur. On arrival he was considered a "fair target" for the Palace supporters, who unfortunately gave him a very hard time everytime he got anywhere near the ball. By sheer hard work Dean gradually managed to win the crowd over, until today one can hear chants of "Deano....Deano", very reminiscent fo the halcyon days of Dean Gordon. Dean has become very much a part of the regular Palace line-up, and has proved himself to be a stalwart defender at a time when Palace need to show their best in terms of keeping out the goals.
